Pays/Ville

Paris, France and

Versailles, France

Details Personnels:

As king of France, or The Sun King,  from 1643 to 1715, I have had many great feats and plan on many more to come. Such feats include dodging a war with Austria by marriage, fighting with enough courage to keep wars from ending in complete disaster, and practically handing the country over to the religion of Catholicism. But, even on my death bed, I did not know what my actions costed my country. Since I have been King since I was four, I have had one of he longest reigns in Fench history.

Date de Naissance:

September 16, 1638 in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, France

Date de Mort:

September 1, 1715 in Versailles, France

Sexe:

Male

Croyances Politiques:

I keep the nobility in line as best as possible to keep the royal line strong.

I also made the councils, administration, and government overall more efficient.

I reliably support the monarchy as a "cult".

I also am considered the best example of Absolutism.

Croyances Religieuses:

Strongly Christian, but unintelligent and bigoted.

Hurt the other religions in many ways. Almost banned them entirely.

Situation de Famille:

Married to Maria Theresa, daughter of Philip IV of Spain,1660,

as part of the settlement by which Mazarin ended the Spanish war. In love with Mazarin's niece at the time.

Married Mme de Maintenon later.

Enfants:

Five (5) died in infancy, and Louis (Dauphin) 1661-1711.

Successor, Louis XV.

Metier:

King of France from 1643 to 1715

Interets/Loisirs:

  • Over-eating
  • Self- satisfaction
  • ostentatious display
  • Ritual
  • Glory

Accomplissements:

  • Made France a great power
  • Age of Glory.
  • His age was considered the "Greatest age of French Culture and Art
  • One of the Most Remarkable Monarchs in History

Education:

  • Schooling available in Palace in Paris, France

Citation Memorable:

  •  hailed as le Dieudonné, "the God-given"
  • "L'État c'est moi [I am the state]."
  • "Up to this moment I have been pleased to entrust the government of my affairs to the late Cardinal. It is now time that I govern them myself. You [secretaries and ministers of state] will assist me with your counsels when I ask for them. I request and order you to seal no orders except by my command, . . . I order you not to sign anything, not even a passport . . . without my command; to render account to me personally each day and to favor no one."
  • "one king, one law, one faith"- motto

Mon Influence sur la Culture Francaise

My influence on French Culture is that during my reign, France stabilized and became one of the strongest powers of Europe. I also really emphasized my tolerance of different cultures, and as a result, France was considered one of the most cultural places. Plus, during my 54 year term as King, I made French culture one of the most appealing in the world; that is why my name is associated with greatness and glory.

As King of France I really helped the culture of France progress throughout my time. I did so by making France a great power in Europe, by solidifying the government, and took my power seriously and without dread. Furthermore, I did not rely on administrative machinery and modernization to "keep me afloat", but rather I manipulated the values and priorities of the French society.

To boot, I kept the religious harmony for quite a while which helped prevent civil war until after my death during my grandson's reign, Louis XVI. Overall, I was a good King with a few bad tendencies. Such good tendencies are improving the French culture, making France a great world power, and being one of the greatest monarchs in history. Unfortunaly, with all progress comes sacrifices, and in my case that was the great loss of currency of my country which put the revolution in motion.

This blog seemed to insult yourself, which is fairly odd for such a proud king. However I loved the images, and the information given was very detailed. Great job overall.

Hey, good job, it's evident that put a lot of effort and time into this. I like your character, but the last comic creeps me out because his face is kind of scary. But other than that, it's nice in appearence and in content as well.
