During my stint as president, the political, social and economic factors and challenges that I had to deal with (at home) included:

 

Political

  • Dealt with a congress of the opposite party for the first time oin over a century
  • Established the Environmental Protection Agency
  • Watergate

 

Social

  • Fixed Social Security benefits to rise with inflation

  • Drew on support from the "Silent Majority"

  • Worked on desegration

 

Economic

  • Intialized "Bretton Woods" - the suspension of converting dollars into gold for international reasons
  • Provided a system of income for disabled workers
  • Had a laissez-faire economic policy, but had to leave room for reason due to the liberal congress.

 

 

During my stint as president, the political, social and economic factors and challenges that I had to deal with (abroad) included:

 

Political

  • The Vietnam War
  • Poor relationships with U.S.S.R and China (darn commies)
  • Cold War

 

Social

  • Helped overturn the Chilean govenment to become pro-western

  • "Vietnamization"

  • Sought to end Communism

 

Economic

  • Improved relations with the Soviet Union allowed more trade to take place
  • Improved relations with China allowed more trade to take place 

 

Looking back at my presidential career, I had to wear several "hats."  Wearing these different "hats," these were my most significant achievements and failures:

 

Commander-in-Chief

Ended Vietnam war

Chief Executive

Reached an agreement with the Soviet Union to limit the use of nuclear weapons

Chief Diplomat

Improved relations with U.S.S.R and China

Ceremonial Head of State

Portrayed the reality of Americans

Manager of the Economy

Fixed the economy by lowering inflation

Party Leader

Introduced more liberal Republican policies

National Leader

Desegregated schools in the U.S.
