I was educated in Paris, I was a good student, and at the Saint Cyr Military Academy I graduated 13th in the class of 1912.   I was commissioned as a second lieutenant, I joined an infantry regiment commanded by Colonel Henri-Phillipe Petain in 1913.  I was in the World War I, and was injured twice early in the war.  I was then poromoted to captain in February, 1915.  I was fighting at Verdun when I got wounded once more, and in 1916 i was captured by the German Army and held in many prisoner of war, POW, camps for the next 32 months.  When I was finally released I was inserted into a Polish Division that was being made in France, and fought the Red Army during the civil war, and won Polands highest military decoration.  I then entered World War II and took control of the 5th Army Tank Force in Alsace but became frustrated.  When the German Army borke through Sedan, I was given command of the 4th regiment, but did not have a great affect on them, because I did not have air support.  I was more succesful at Caumont, which made me the only French commanding officer to force German retreat.  In 1940, Paul Reynaud sacked his minister of war, and put me in his position.  I went to London for the shortest time and Henri-Phillipe had ousted Paul as premier and made a new government.  I was afraid to get arrested so i fled back to London.  I made a radio broadcast to the French Nation to keep fighting the Germans!  Henri-Phillipe denounced me, but the was sentenced by a court-martial to death on August 2, 1940.

Mon Influence sur la Culture Francaise

I influenced the french culture with many of the things that I did.  I attempted to unify the many resistances that were in France against the Germans.  I also made a radio broadcast to all the French citizens to keep fighting the Germans, because my co-worker wanted an armistice with the Germans, and I was in danger of getting arrested.  I fought against the Germans and made them flee. I also, became the President of France and granted all 13 of the French African colonies freedom.  This is the greatest influence a man can make on his country.

During WWII, I attempted to unify the many resistance forces to become a greater and defeat the Germans.  With the help of Jean Moulin, Charles Delestraint, and Andre Dewain, we unified the eight major French resistances, this was undermined when Moulin, and Delestraint were arrested by the Gestapo.  I then made a radio broadcast to my French people telling them to keep fighting the Germans.  I would have told them in person but my friend, Henri-Philipe sent the police to arrest me.  This makes me connected to my country and people, only hoping the best for them.

I fought against the Germans many times.  I fought along side wtih two tank regiments, and I almost lost both times.  But, at Caumont, I was lucky to make the Germans run with my tanks.  This accomplishment made me the first commanding French officer to stop the German Invasion of France.  Making this accomplishment  I helped France become free.

When I was elected President in 1958, it was during the Algerian Crisis.  We were in a war, and I granted all of the French African colonies independence, yet we still fought on for another six years.  I showed leadership during a time of war, but i was not listened to.

Présidence

During my presidency I had many times when I was very unpopular, one of these moments made me resign for my own safety.  This moment was when I decided that the great country of France should have it's own atomic bomb.  I withdrew from the military command of NATO.  Student riots, and negative results in a referendum, i resigned from office in April, 1969.  But, in retiremt i got the chance to finish my memoires.

I like how you replaced the notes section with the Présidence section. It related well to Charles de Gaulle and gave the viewers vital information on him. The different colored fonts were also appealing and entertaining.

This easily caught my attention, which was a good thing. It was also really easy to follow, and overall was very nice. Just watch out for spelling errors, other than that, though, it was perfect. Good job!

You did a very nice job organizing the page and the colors made it really easy to read as well. You also included really good personal details about Charles de Gaulle's life and did a good job researching his main accomplishments. In general, you did a really nice job that made the page very appealing to read with the colors.

I like how you color codded every section, it caught the readers attention and added to the wiki. I learned more about your person through your wiki, I never knew he was a president, and I like your pictures! Great job!
